August übernimmt die katholische Religionspädagogin und Medienfrau Christiane Faschon (55) das Amt als Generalsekretärin der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in der Schweiz (AGCK-CH). Sie tritt damit die Nachfolge des Protestanten Georg Schubert an. Schubert war seit Januar 2003 zu 50-Prozent als Sekretär der AGCK-CH tätig und hat jetzt innerhalb der Communität Don Camillo, der er angehört, zusätzliche Aufgaben übernommen.

BERN/ZÜRICH – (APD) Vom 4. bis 9. September findet in der rumänischen Stadt Sibiu (Hermannstadt) die “Dritte Europäische Ökumenische Versammlung” (EÖV3) statt, an der auch rund 40 Delegierte aus Schweizer Kirchen teilnehmen.
Die EÖV3 wird von der “Konferenz Europäischer Kirchen” (KEK) und dem “Rat der Europäischen Bischofskonferenzen” (CCEE) veranstaltet und steht unter dem Motto “Das Licht Christi scheint über allen. Hoffnung auf Erneuerung und Einheit in Europa”. An der EÖV3 nehmen etwa 2.100 Delegierte aus den Kirchen der KEK und CCEE teil. Hinzu kommen weitere 400 Gäste, Mitarbeiter und Medienvertreter.
Der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in der Schweiz (AGCK-CH) kommt nach eigenen Angaben eine wichtige Funktion als Koordinationsgremium für die gesamte Schweizer Delegation zu. In Sibiu sollen Anliegen eingebracht, die am 10. März anlässlich eines Schweizer Vorbereitungstreffens mit 200 Teilnehmern in Lausanne diskutiert und erarbeitet wurden. Seit Januar 2006 haben europaweit über 50 nationale und regionale ökumenische Treffen stattgefunden, deren Ergebnisse in die Beratungen der EÖV3 einfliessen sollen. An der Versammlung in Sibiu stehen neun Themenbereichen zur Diskussion: Einheit (unter den Kirchen), Spiritualität, Zeugnis, Europa, Migration, Religionen, Schöpfung, Friede und Gerechtigkeit.

BEIRUT – Ökumenische Delegation aus Deutschland beendet ersten Teil ihrer Nahost-Reise
Eine gemeinsame Delegation der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz und der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD) besucht vom 23. bis 29. Juni 2007 die Kirchen im Libanon und in Ägypten. Der Besuch ist ein Zeichen der Solidarität mit den Christen vor Ort und will ein Signal für den Dialog mit den Muslimen setzen.

ISRAEL – Der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Pfr. Dr. Samuel Kobia, wird vom 21. bis 26. Juni Mitgliedskirchen und christliche Gemeinden in den besetzten palästinensischen Gebieten und in Israel besuchen. Mit dem Besuch, der direkt nach der Eröffnung des vom ÖRK unterstützten Ökumenischen Palästina/Israel-Forum in Amman, Jordanien, stattfindet (siehe ÖRK-Pressemitteilung vom 12. Juni), soll die weltweite Solidarität der Kirchen mit den Kirchen im heiligen Land zum Ausdruck gebracht werden und ausserdem unsere Sorge um die Zukunft der beiden vom israelisch-palästinensischen Konflikt betroffenen Völker übermittelt werden.
“Die Mitgliedskirchen des ÖRK glauben, dass christliche Gemeinschaften im Heiligen Land ein historischer und wesentlicher Bestandteil der Region sind und dass ihre Zukunft und ihr Wohl mit der Zukunft und dem Wohl von Muslimen und Juden verbunden ist,” sagt Kobia.

SOCHAUX / GENF (LWI) – Die Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche Frankreichs (EELF) und die Reformierte Kirche von Frankreich (ERF) wollen Gespräche aufnehmen, die bis zum Jahr 2013 zur Bildung einer Vereinigten Protestantischen Kirche Frankreichs führen sollen. Der Einigungsprozess wurde bei den ersten gemeinsamen Synodalsitzungen von EELF und ERF beschlossen, die im Rahmen der Tagungen der landesweiten Synoden beider Kirchen vom 17. bis 20. Mai im ostfranzösischen Sochaux nahe Montbéliard stattfanden.
Der Brückenschlag zwischen beiden Kirchen wurde 2002 durch den Aufruf verschiedener Gemeinden und Regionalsynoden an die jeweiligen nationalen Komitees initiiert, eine „stärkere und sichtbarere Einheit“ zwischen beiden Kirchen herbeizuführen.
