AACHEN – Die westlichen und östlichen Kirchen begehen das Osterfest aufgrund unterschiedlicher Kalenderberechnungen zu verschiedenen Zeiten. In diesem Jahr allerdings, wie auch in den Jahren 2001 und 2004, fielen die Ostertermine auf dasselbe Datum.
Anlässlich des gemeinsamen Osterfestes fand am Ostersonntag im Aachener Dom eine ökumenische Ostervesper statt. An dieser Feier wirkten neben dem Aachener Bischof Heinrich Mussinghoff der orthodoxe Bischof Evmenios, Präses Nikolaus Schneider von der Evangelischen Kirche im Rheinland und für die ACK der methodistische Bischof em. Walter Klaiber mit. Veranstaltet wurde der Gottesdienst gemeinsam von der Bundes-ACK, der ACK Nordrhein-Westfalen und der ACK Aachen.

FRANKFURT – An der Spitze der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in Deutschland (ACK) wurde ein Wechsel vollzogen. Zum neuen Vorsitzenden wurde von den Delegierten der Kirchen auf der Mitgliederversammlung am 7./8. März 2007 in Berlin Bischof Dr. Friedrich Weber (EKD) gewählt.
Er löst den evangelisch-methodistischen Bischof em. Walter Klaiber ab, der sechs Jahre die ACK führte. Klaiber wurde in Berlin zusammen mit den anderen bisherigen Vorstandsmitgliedern, Bischöfin Maria Jepsen (EKD), Metropolit Augoustinos (OKiD), Bischof Dr. Diethardt Roth (SELK) und Bischof Heinz Algermissen (Römisch-Katholische Kirche/ DBK) verabschiedet.
