OBERNHAUSEN – Die Komödie machte Tolya das Rennen. Der mit 1.500 € dotierte Preis der Ökumenischen Jury bei den 53. Internationalen Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen (3.5. – 8.5. 2007) ging an den Film Tolya von Rodeon Brodsky, Israel 2006.
Was macht ein russischer Gastarbeiter, der am Internationalen Frauentag zuhause anrufen will und sich seiner geliebten Frau nicht verständlich machen kann, weil ihm die Zähne ausgefallen sind? Der in Russland geborene und seit 2000 in Israel lebende Regisseur entwickelt daraus eine Geschichte voller Humor. Die Jury bewertete vor allem das positive Ende hoch: „In einem verfahrenen Moment schafft er es, durch eine überraschende Aktion gemeinsam mit seiner Frau am Telefon zu lachen. Erfrischend, human und liebevoll – ein Erstlingswerk, das überzeugt.“
