KARLSRUHE – Die Vereinigung Evangelischer Freikirchen (VEF) stößt auf immer mehr Interesse. Auf der Mitgliederversammlung am 19. und 20. November in Karlsruhe wurden drei neue Freikirchen aufgenommen und ihre Vertreter in einem Festgottesdienst gesegnet, nachdem während eines einjährigen Aufnahmenverfahrens die bisherigen acht Mitgliedskirchen dem Wunsch zugestimmt hatten. Neues Vollmitglied wurde die pfingstkirchlich geprägte Gemeinde Gottes. Diese 4.000 Mitglieder in 100 Gemeinden zählende Pfingstkirche ist seit über zehn Jahren mit der VEF verbunden, zunächst als Beobachter, seit dem Jahr 2.000 als Gastmitglied. Sie ist in den letzten Jahren nach eigenen Angaben jeweils um 6-8% gewachsen. Als neue Gastmitglieder wurden das Freikirchliche Evangelische Gemeindewerk (fegw) und die Anskar-Kirche aufgenommen.

BAAR – Eine zweite Dialogrunde zwischen Mitgliedern des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) und verschiedener Pfingstkirchen hat letzte Woche in Baar in der Schweiz begonnen. Eine Gruppe von siebzehn evangelischen, orthodoxen und pfingstkirchlich orientierten Christen/innen kam zusammen, um die Arbeit fortzuführen, die die erste Gemeinsame Beratungsgruppe des ÖRK und der Pfingstkirchen in der Zeit von 2000 bis 2005 geleistet hatte.
In seiner Reflexion über die Bedeutung dieses Treffens erklärte Cecil M. Robeck Jr., Professor für Kirchengeschichte und Ökumene im Fuller Theological Seminary, der die Pfingstkirchen auch dieses Mal als Ko-Vorsitzender der Gruppe vertritt, dass “dieses Treffen uns einen sehr guten Start in unsere gemeinsame Arbeit der nächsten fünf Jahre ermöglicht hat”.
