Die Vorsitzende des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), Landesbischöfin Margot Käßmann und Bischof Martin Schindehütte, Leiter der Auslandsabteilung der EKD, haben in einem gemeinsamen Brief an den Patriarchen der Russischen Orthodoxen Kirche (ROK), Kirill I., zu Äußerungen von Vertretern des Außenamtes der ROK Stellung genommen. „Mit Verwunderung und großem Unverständnis“, so heißt es in dem Schreiben, nehme man zur Kenntnis, dass „einige Vertreter des Außenamtes der ROK“ die Wahlen der Synode der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland in Ulm in „unangemessener Weise“ kommentiert haben.
Die Ratsvorsitzende und Bischof Schindehütte stellen dazu fest, dass die unterschiedlichen Auffassungen „bezüglich des geistlichen Dienstes von Frauen in der Kirche Jesu Christi“ bisher „kein Hinderungsgrund für fruchtbare zwischenkirchliche Beziehungen auf bilateraler und multilateraler Ebene“ gewesen seien. Es sei vielmehr „ein christliches Gebot des gegenseitigen Respekts im geschwisterlichen Umgang, Unterschiede im Leben und Glauben unserer Kirchen auszuhalten und um den gemeinsamen Grund zu wissen, wie der Apostel Paulus an die Epheser schreibt: „,Ein Herr, ein Glaube, eine Taufe‘“, heißt es in dem Brief weiter.
Die „kürzlich eingetretene Entwicklung“ hingegen bedaure die EKD sehr. Das für den 30. November in Berlin geplante Treffen anlässlich der Feiern zum 50-jährigen Jubiläum des Dialoges zwischen EKD und ROK werde leider aufgrund der Absage von Erzbischof Hilarion nicht stattfinden können. Von Seiten der EKD aber, so das Schreiben weiter, sei man an der Fortsetzung des „wichtigen theologischen Dialogs über christliche Zentralfragen“ interessiert und zuversichtlich, dass dieser Dialog in Zukunft weitergeführt werde.

ANTWERPEN – (APD) Mit den Perspektiven des christlich-islamischen Dialogs in den protestantischen Kirchen Europas beschäftigte sich die 46. Jahrestagung des Evangelischen Arbeitskreises für Konfessionskunde in Europa vom 16. bis 19. April in Antwerpen (Belgien).
Schon im Anspruch des christlich-islamischen Dialogs an sich liege nach Meinung der drei Referenten der Tagung eine Spannung. Weder seien einzelne christliche Konfessionen repräsentativ für alle Kirchen, noch biete sich auf islamischer Seite in den Ländern Europas ein autorisierter Gesprächspartner an. Selbst die formale Autorität der Al-Azar-Universität in Kairo sei im Islam letztendlich genauso wenig verbindlich für alle Beteiligten des Dialogs wie Stellungnahmen einer einzelnen Kirche für andere christliche Konfessionen. FREIBURG – (APD) Der römisch-katholische Theologe Eberhard Schockenhoff, Professor für Moraltheologie an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg im Breisgau, befürchtet eine Schwächung des christlichen Standpunktes in ethischen gesellschaftlichen Debatten. Als Grund nannte er Kathpress zufolge am 23. April in Karlsruhe die evangelischerseits forcierte “Ökumene der Profile”. Das Beharren auf unterschiedlichen evangelischen und römisch-katholischen Ethik-Positionen und wechselseitige Sich-Abgrenzen führe zur “Marginalisierung der christlichen Stimme”, befürchtet der Theologe.
Nach Ansicht Schockenhoffs, der Mitglied im Deutschen Ethikrat ist, vertreten die beiden grossen christlichen Kirchen seit einigen Jahren in wichtigen ethischen Fragen keine gemeinsamen Positionen mehr. AUGSBURG – Gewalt zu überwinden sei eine Grundaufgabe der christlichen Kirche, sagte der Vorsitzende des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), Bischof Wolfgang Huber, beim Festakt in Augsburg, bei dem der Religionspädagogin Elisabeth Naurath der Hanna-Jursch-Preis überreicht wurde. Der Hanna-Jursch-Preis wird alle zwei Jahre vom Rat der EKD für herausragende theologische Forschungsarbeiten aus der Perspektive von Frauen vergeben. In diesem Jahr hat der Rat der EKD den mit 5.000 Euro dotierten Preis der Osnabrücker Theologin Professorin Elisabeth Naurath zugesprochen. Sie erhält den Preis für ihre Habilitationsschrift „Mit Gefühl gegen Gewalt. Mitgefühl als Schlüssel ethischer Bildung in der Religionspädagogik“. In seiner Festrede spürte der Vorsitzende des Rates der EKD, Bischof Wolfgang Huber, der Frage nach, inwieweit die Überwindung von Gewalt eine Grundaufgabe der Kirche sei.

In seinem Brief an den zukünftigen Vorsitzenden der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz bringt der Ratsvorsitzende “ganz offen meine Hoffnung zum Ausdruck, dass wir miteinander die über die zurückliegenden Jahrzehnte guten und gefestigten ökumenischen Begegnungen zwischen unseren Kirchen fortführen und weiterentwickeln können”.
