BERLIN – Für seine „Unermüdlichkeit und für sein frühes Erkennen der absoluten Wichtigkeit der ökumenischen Zusammenarbeit“ wurde Horst H. Krüger anlässlich des Jahresempfangs des ÖRBB bereits am 24. Januar mit dem Ökumenepreis 2009 ausgezeichnet. Zwar hat er für die Berliner Mennoniten-Gemeinde (BMG) im Jahre 1970 noch nicht die Gründungsurkunde des Ökumenischen Rats unterzeichnet (das war John R. Friesen), aber er gehört zu den Mitgliedern der Ratsleitung, die am längsten dabei sind – vielleicht ist er sogar der, der am längsten dabei ist.
Die Ratsleitung ist die Versammlung der Vertreter und Vertreterinnen der nunmehr 30 Mitgliedskirchen des ÖRBB, die sich viermal im Jahr zusammenfinden. Der ÖRBB ist der „Berliner Sonderweg“ – als regionale ACK (=Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen) ist der ÖRBB dahingehend aufgebaut, dass die jeweils „Kirchenleitenden“ die „geborenen“ Mitglieder in der Ratsleitung darstellen. Horst H. Krüger ist seit Anfang der 70er Jahre der Delegierte der BMG.
