GENF – (ÖRK) Angeregt durch das Zeugnis von Kirchen in einem geteilten Land werden Christinnen und Christen in der ganzen Welt während der Gebetswoche für die Einheit der Christen 2009 beten: “Damit sie eins werden in deiner Hand”.
Das Material für die Gebetswoche für die Einheit der Christen 2009 ist aus den Erfahrungen der Kirchen in Korea hervorgegangen. Angesicht der Teilung ihres Landes suchen sie Ermutigung bei dem Propheten Hesekiel, der ebenfalls in einem geteilten Land lebte und sich nach der Vereinigung seines Volkes sehnte.
Die Gebetswoche wird traditionell vom 18. bis 25. Januar (in der nördlichen Hemisphäre) oder zu Pfingsten (in der südlichen Hemisphäre) begangen und von zahlreichen Gemeinden in der ganzen Welt gefeiert. Während dieser Woche kommen Christen und Christinnen aus verschiedenen Konfessionsfamilien zusammen, um – zumindest bei dieser Gelegenheit – gemeinsam in besonderen ökumenischen Feiern zu beten.
Die Erarbeitung des liturgischen und biblischen Materials für die Gebetswoche wird seit 1968 gemeinsam vom Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen (Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung) und der römisch-katholische Kirche (Päpstlicher Rat zur Förderung der Einheit der Christen) koordiniert.
Für die diesjährige Gebetswoche ist eine Gruppe von Vertretern der Katholischen Bischofskonferenz von Korea und des Nationalen Kirchenrates in Korea von der Vision des Hesekiel (Hes. 37, 15-28) von den zwei Holzstücken ausgegangen, die die zwei Königreiche symbolisieren, in die Israel gespalten war. Für sie bot dieses Vision zwingende Parallelen zu ihrer eigenen Situation in einem geteilten Land und für eine gespaltene Christenheit.
Unter den Materialien für die Gebetswoche sind eine Einführung in das Thema; Vorschläge für eine ökumenische Feier, die die Gemeinden ihrem eigenen liturgischen, gesellschaftlichen und kulturellen Kontext anpassen können; Bibelmeditationen und Gebete für die “acht Tage”; sowie zusätzliche Gebete und informative Texte, die vom ökumenischen Leben in Korea zeugen.
