FRANKFURT – Um sich gegenseitig zu “stärken, als Christen und Christinnen gemeinsam sichtbar zu werden, und Verantwortung zu übernehmen” haben sich am 21. Juni christliche Gemeinden und Kirchen zur Arbeitsgemeinschaft christlicher Kirchen (ACK) Frankfurt am Main zusammengeschlossen.
Mit der Gründung einer ACK Frankfurt wollen die Gründungsmitglieder die bisherige informelle gute Zusammenarbeit in eine neue und verbindliche Form bringen und auch andere Gemeinden und Kirchen dazu einladen.
Zu den Zielen der Unterzeichenden gehört auch, sich als Teil der weltweiten ökumenischen Bewegung verstehen und daran arbeiten die Einheit in Vielfalt der christlichen Kirchen zu stärken.
Zur Vielfalt innerhalb der ACK Frankfurt gehören folgende Kirchen und Gemeinden: Evangelische Kirche in Frankfurt/Main, Selbständige Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche, Römisch-katholische Kirche im Bistum Limburg/Lahn, Koptisch-Orthodoxe-Kirche, Mennonitengemeinde Frankfurt/M., Evangelisch Methodistische Kirche, Alt-Katholische Kirche, Schwedische Kirche, Internationaler Konvent christlicher Gemeinden Rhein-Main e.V., Griechisch Orthodoxe Kirche. Als Gastmitglied ist die Freie Evangelische Gemeinde Frankfurt mit dabei.
