AUGSBURG – Gewalt zu überwinden sei eine Grundaufgabe der christlichen Kirche, sagte der Vorsitzende des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), Bischof Wolfgang Huber, beim Festakt in Augsburg, bei dem der Religionspädagogin Elisabeth Naurath der Hanna-Jursch-Preis überreicht wurde. Der Hanna-Jursch-Preis wird alle zwei Jahre vom Rat der EKD für herausragende theologische Forschungsarbeiten aus der Perspektive von Frauen vergeben. In diesem Jahr hat der Rat der EKD den mit 5.000 Euro dotierten Preis der Osnabrücker Theologin Professorin Elisabeth Naurath zugesprochen. Sie erhält den Preis für ihre Habilitationsschrift „Mit Gefühl gegen Gewalt. Mitgefühl als Schlüssel ethischer Bildung in der Religionspädagogik“. In seiner Festrede spürte der Vorsitzende des Rates der EKD, Bischof Wolfgang Huber, der Frage nach, inwieweit die Überwindung von Gewalt eine Grundaufgabe der Kirche sei.
„Gewalt überwinden – overcoming violence“ habe sich der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) für die Jahre 2001 bis 2010 zum Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit gegeben. Dabei sei das Ziel der Kirchen die Überwindung von zerstörerischer, lebensbedrohlicher Gewalt. Geschaut werde auf alle Kategorien der Gewalt, personelle, strukturelle und kulturelle, die in der Wirklichkeit, so der Ratsvorsitzende, aufs engste miteinander verbunden seien. Die Aufgabe, Gewalt zu überwinden, liege nahe bei der Wesensbestimmung der christlichen Kirche; es ist eine Aufgabe, deren Wahrnehmung für die Kirche insgesamt orientierende Bedeutung hat. Dies habe auch die im vergangenen Jahr veröffentlichte Friedensdenkschrift des Rates der EKD erläutert. Auch wenn nach dem mit der Stadt Augsburg verbundenen grundlegenden evangelischen Bekenntnis, nur zwei Grundaufgaben der Kirche ausreichend und grundlegende Kennzeichen der Kirche seien, gehöre das Eintreten für die Überwindung der Gewalt zu den Grundaufgaben der christlichen Kirche, weil die Gewaltlosigkeit selbst ein unmittelbarer Bestandteil und ein Wesenselement der kirchlichen Verkündigung ist, so Wolfgang Huber in Augsburg: „Wenn eine Kirche sich an dieser Aufgabe orientiert, lebt sie, was sie durch die Zusage der Gnade Gottes in Jesus Christus immer schon ist: Versöhnungsgeschehen zwischen Gott und Mensch, geschwisterliche Gemeinschaft zwischen Menschen, Friedenszeichen trotz fortbestehender Feindschaften in dieser Welt. Frieden ist eben nicht zuerst eine ethisch-moralische Verpflichtung der Kirche, sondern eine ihr in Jesus Christus geschenkte Wirklichkeit, die sie überhaupt erst zur Kirche macht.“
Die Untersuchung von Elisabeth Naurath, die mit dem Hanna-Jursch-Preis ausgezeichnet werde, stelle sich in den Zusammenhang dieser Grundaufgabe der Kirche, wenn sie aufzeige, wie im pädagogischen Handeln der Kirche mit Gefühl gegen Gewalt angegangen werden könne. Sie gliedere sich ein in die Aktivitäten der ökumenischen Dekade in Deutschland und öffne mit einem gendersensiblen Impuls einen neuen Blick für alle Felder kirchlichen Handelns.
