HAMBURG – Eine präzise Beschreibung bestehender Differenzen sei der erste Beitrag zu einer Ökumene der Profile, erklärt der Vorsitzende des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland, Bischof Wolfgang Huber, am Samstag vor dem Rittertag des Johanniterordens in Hamburg. Zu der ökumenischen Bewegung, die er sich erhoffe gehöre außerdem, dass die Kirchen gemeinsam, aber in ihrer Unterschiedenheit nach außen wirken und gemeinsam ihre Spiritualität entdecken. Der Ratsvorsitzende gab in Hamburg eine Standortbestimmung im Rückblick auf die jüngste Äußerung des Vatikans und im Ausblick auf die 3. Europäische Ökumenische Versammlung in Sibiu Anfang September.
Die Diskussion ist nach Ansicht von Wolfgang Huber noch in vollem Gange, wie die jüngste Wiederholung früherer Aussagen der Glaubenskongregation im Vatikan, die protestantische Kirchen seien nicht “Kirchen im eigentlichen Sinn” in der ökumenischen Entwicklung zu bewerten sei: “Die Frage, welches Bild vom ökumenischen Miteinander der Kirchen dem zu Grunde liegt und welches Bild wir als evangelische Kirche dem entgegenzusetzen haben, drängt sich unweigerlich auf.” Wolfgang Huber will allerdings keine Fixierung der ökumenischen Bewegung auf die “auf die letzte Wendung im Gespräch mit der römisch-katholischen Kirche”. Die Kirchen Europas stünden vor “der Aufgabe, deutlich zu machen, wie sie die spirituelle Erneuerung in ihrem eigenen Innern mit der Zuwendung zu den Menschen verbinden, denen der christliche Glaube fremd geworden ist. Sie müssen deutlich machen, dass die gottesdienstliche Feier des Glaubens und sein tätiges Bezeugen in den Herausforderungen unserer Zeit eine unauflösliche Einheit bilden,” sagt er im Blick auf das Treffen in Sibiu von 4. bis 9. September, bei dem etwa 2.500 Vertreter aller Konfessionen in Europa zusammen kommen werden.
Um in der Ökumene weiterzukommen, so der Ratsvorsitzende, müsse an gute Erfahrungen angeknüpft werden. Er verweist beispielhaft auf den Gottesdienst zur gegenseitigen Anerkennung der Taufe in Magdeburg im April dieses Jahres.
