HAMBURG – Eine präzise Beschreibung bestehender Differenzen sei der erste Beitrag zu einer Ökumene der Profile, erklärt der Vorsitzende des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland, Bischof Wolfgang Huber, am Samstag vor dem Rittertag des Johanniterordens in Hamburg. Zu der ökumenischen Bewegung, die er sich erhoffe gehöre außerdem, dass die Kirchen gemeinsam, aber in ihrer Unterschiedenheit nach außen wirken und gemeinsam ihre Spiritualität entdecken. Der Ratsvorsitzende gab in Hamburg eine Standortbestimmung im Rückblick auf die jüngste Äußerung des Vatikans und im Ausblick auf die 3. Europäische Ökumenische Versammlung in Sibiu Anfang September.
Die Diskussion ist nach Ansicht von Wolfgang Huber noch in vollem Gange, wie die jüngste Wiederholung früherer Aussagen der Glaubenskongregation im Vatikan, die protestantische Kirchen seien nicht “Kirchen im eigentlichen Sinn” in der ökumenischen Entwicklung zu bewerten sei: “Die Frage, welches Bild vom ökumenischen Miteinander der Kirchen dem zu Grunde liegt und welches Bild wir als evangelische Kirche dem entgegenzusetzen haben, drängt sich unweigerlich auf.” Wolfgang Huber will allerdings keine Fixierung der ökumenischen Bewegung auf die “auf die letzte Wendung im Gespräch mit der römisch-katholischen Kirche”. BERLIN – (APD) Pastor Peter Jörgensen (44), Seelsorger der Baptistengemeinde Berlin-Wedding, tritt am 1. August das Amt des Beauftragten der Vereinigung Evangelischer Freikirchen (VEF) am Sitz der deutschen Bundesregierung an. Er ist Nachfolger von Dr. Dietmar Lütz, der nach siebenjähriger Tätigkeit seit Anfang 2007 als Pastor in einer Hamburger Baptistengemeinde wirkt. Jörgensen wird wie Lütz eine 20-prozentige Beauftragung wahrnehmen. Zur VEF gehören 14 Freikirchen mit rund 300.000 Mitgliedern.
Freikirchen und freikirchliche Gemeindeverbände in Deutschland sind bereits seit 1926 in einer Arbeitsgemeinschaft, der Vereinigung Evangelischer Freikirchen (VEF), zusammengeschlossen. Diese dient der Förderung gemeinsamer Aufgaben, der Vertiefung zwischenkirchlicher Beziehungen sowie der Vertretung gemeinsamer Belange nach aussen.

TOULOUSE – Evangelikale und Pfingstkirchen beteiligen sich erstmals an einer Konsultation über Bekehrung im Rahmen des gemeinsamen Studienprozesses von Vatikan und Ökumenischem Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK). Die Konsultation in Toulouse vom 8. bis 12. August vollzieht damit einen weiteren Schritt hin zu dem Ziel eines gemeinsamen Verhaltenskodex für Bemühungen, Menschen zum Christentum zu bekehren.
Der dreijährige gemeinsame Studienprozess, der nun in die zweite Phase geht, hatte im Mai letzten Jahres mit einer Tagung begonnen, die bekräftigte, dass Religionsfreiheit als Menschenrecht grundsätzlich nicht zur Disposition stehen dürfe und alle Menschen jederzeit auf dieses Recht Anspruch hätten.
