BERN – (APD) Am 1. August übernimmt die katholische Religionspädagogin und Medienfrau Christiane Faschon (55) das Amt als Generalsekretärin der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in der Schweiz (AGCK-CH). Sie tritt damit die Nachfolge des Protestanten Georg Schubert an. Schubert war seit Januar 2003 zu 50-Prozent als Sekretär der AGCK-CH tätig und hat jetzt innerhalb der Communität Don Camillo, der er angehört, zusätzliche Aufgaben übernommen.
Die neue Generalsekretärin stammt aus Berg (TG). Sie ist als dipl. Religionspädagogin und Fachjournalistin sowie als Dozentin für interkulturelle Themen tätig.
In einer Zeit grosser gesellschaftlicher und kultureller Umbrüche möchte Faschon, nach eigenen Angaben, dazu beitragen, dass die Kirche stärker ins öffentliche Bewusstsein gerückt werde. Sie wolle sich deshalb dafür einsetzen, dass die in der Schweiz vertretenen Kirchen in Zukunft aus dem Gemeinsamen heraus handeln und als eine Stimme in der Öffentlichkeit gehört werden. Die Verschiedenheit der Kirchen betrachte sie als einen Reichtum: “Ich bin überzeugt, dass die Kirchen ernster genommen werden, wenn sie sich auf das Gemeinsame besinnen und mit einer Stimme in der Öffentlichkeit auftreten“, so Faschon.
Faschon gehört europaweit zu den wenigen römisch-katholischen Frauen, die einem nationalen Kirchenrat als Generalsekretärin vorsteht. Auch der “Rat der Kirchen in den Niederlanden” hat mit Pfarrerin Ineke Bakker seit zwölf Jahren eine Frau als Generalsekretärin. Die Theologin Ineke Bakker wird allerdings den Rat im Oktober verlassen, um die Leitung der holländischen Stiftung Oikos, einer ökumenische Nichtregierungsorganisation, zu übernehmen. Im Nachbarland Österreich amtierte die katholische Oberin und Professorin Christine Gleixner vom Januar 2000 bis Ende Dezember 2005 als Vorsitzende des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen in Österreich (ÖRKÖ). Zuvor war die Ordensfrau von 1996 bis 1999 stellvertretende Vorsitzende des ÖRKÖ.
Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft christlicher Kirchen in der Schweiz ist vor über dreissig Jahren mit dem Ziel gegründet worden, die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den christlichen Kirchen zu fördern. Ihr gehören zurzeit zehn Kirchen und kirchliche Organisationen an. Präsident der AGCK-CH ist derzeit der reformierte Pfarrer Ruedi Heinzer (Spiez).
