pax christi distanziert sich von allen Formen der Gewaltanwendung zur Durchsetzung politischer Ziele. Die Bundesanwaltschaft verfolgt mit Recht rund 40 Anschläge zwischen 2005 und 2007. Aber wir fragen nach der Verhältnismäßigkeit der Mittel und haben Sorge, dass hier mit der Keule des Terrorismusvorwurfs die gesamte Protestbewegung getroffen werden soll.
pax christi befürchtet, dass über solche Einschüchterung, Diffamierung und Kriminalisierung der Proteste eher weitere Gewalt provoziert als eingedämmt wird.
pax christi unterstützt die Demonstration am 2.6.2007 und den Alternativgipfel in der anschließenden Woche anlässlich des Treffens der sog. G 8, weil dieses Treffen der Staatschefs der mächtigsten Industriestaaten – und nicht zuletzt auch die durch den absurden Zaun um Heiligendamm herum dokumentierte Machtdemonstration – Widerspruch und Ansporn zu einer gerechteren Weltpolitik braucht.
Als Friedensbewegung sehen wir, dass die ungleiche Macht-, Ressourcen- und Reichtumsverteilung weltweit den Frieden zunehmend gefährdet und unterstützen deshalb durch die pax christi-Kommission „Globalisierung und Weltwirtschaft“ die gewaltfreien Proteste sowie die Suche nach Alternativen.
