MALATAYA – (APD) Bei einem brutalen Überfall auf ein kleines christliches Verlagshaus in der südosttürkischen Stadt Malatya sind am 18. April drei Menschen ermordet worden. Unter den drei Männern sei auch ein Deutscher, teilte der Provinzgouverneur Halil Ibrahim Dasöz den Medien mit. Ein vierter Mann sei nach einem Sprung oder Sturz aus dem Fenster verletzt in ein Krankenhaus gebracht worden. Der Verlag habe christliche Literatur und Kreuze verkauft und sei deshalb bedroht worden.
Schockiert über die Morde an den drei Christen in der Türkei haben sich Kirchenvertreter und Politiker in Deutschland geäussert. Mehrere Täter drangen am 18. April in Malatya in ein Gebäude ein, in dem ein kleiner christlicher Verlag untergebracht ist. Sie fesselten ihre Opfer an Händen und Füssen und schnitten ihnen die Kehlen durch. Die Angreifer töteten einen Deutschen und zwei Türken.

GENF – Sechs engagierte Ökumeniker/innen mit jeweils spezifischer Erfahrung in verschiedenen Bereichen ökumenischer Arbeit sind auf Schlüsselpositionen in den Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen berufen worden. Die neu ernannten Stabsmitglieder werden für die Leitung von fünf Programmbereichen sowie des Büros für Planung und Integration zuständig sein. Diese Positionen sind das Ergebnis der nach der 9. ÖRK-Vollversammlung 2006 erfolgten Neugestaltung der Programmarbeit.
Bei den neu ernannten Direktoren/innen handelt es sich um Pfr. Dr. Hielke Wolters (Gerechtigkeit, Diakonie und Schöpfungsverantwortung), Mark Edward Beach (Kommunikation), Pfr. Dr. Martin Robra (Der ÖRK und die ökumenische Bewegung im 21. Jahrhundert), Pfr. Jacques Matthey (Einheit, Mission, Evangelisation und Spiritualität) und Dr. Aruna Gnanadason (Planung und Integration). Der Direktor des ÖRK-Programms für Bildung und ökumenische Ausbildung, Prof. Ion Sauca, wurde bereits letztes Jahr ernannt.

BAMBERG (bbk) Erzbischof Ludwig Schick hat das neue Buch von Papst Benedikt XVI. als ein „großes Geschenk“ gewürdigt, das die Leser „mitnehmen“ wolle zu Jesus von Nazareth. Das Werk sei trotz aller bereichernder wissenschaftlichen Ausführungen ein „Zeugnis der Suche von Joseph Ratzinger/Papst Benedikt nach Jesus von Nazareth“, sagte Schick am Montag vor Journalisten in Bamberg. Diese doppelte Absicht – Zeugnis zu geben und die Leser „mitnehmen“ zu wollen, dafür sei die ganze Person notwendig: der Papst, der Theologe und der Christ. Dies erkläre auch die viel diskutierte doppelte Autorenangabe: Joseph Ratzinger/Benedikt XVI.
Nach Einschätzung von Erzbischof Schick vermag das Buch auch der Ökumene einen neuen Impuls zu geben, weil es weg von den Kontroversthemen hinlenke zum „verbindenden Ursprung“. Das 400 Seiten starke Buch „Jesus von Nazareth“ ist nach Einschätzung von Erzbischof Schick aber nicht nur für Theologen zu empfehlen. Es sei für „jeden lesbar und lesenswert.“ Zwar gebe es Passagen, die theologisches Wissen voraussetzten und schwieriger zu verstehen seinen. Dann aber gebe es Teile, die einfach geschrieben seien und „Herz und Seele“ ansprächen. Abschnitt für Abschnitt gelesen, bereichere „Jesus von Nazareth“ am meisten.

BREMEN – Am Samstag, 21. April, eröffnen der Vorsitzende der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz, Karl Kardinal Lehmann, und die Bischöfin der Evangelisch-lutherischen Landeskirche Hannovers, Dr. Margot Käßmann, Mitglied des Rates der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), in Bremen die bundesweite Woche für das Leben. Nach einer gemeinsamen Pressekonferenz, in der Kardinal Lehmann und Landesbischöfin Käßmann das diesjährige Thema “Mit Kindern in die Zukunft gehen” vorstellen, findet um 11 Uhr ein Ökumenischer Gottesdienst im Dom St. Petri in Bremen statt.
Der Gottesdienst wird live von der ARD übertragen. Neben Kardinal Lehmann und Landesbischöfin Käßmann, die die Predigt hält, wirken unter anderem auch der Bischof von Osnabrück, Dr. Franz-Josef Bode, und der Schriftführer des Kirchenausschusses der Bremischen Evangelischen Kirche, Pastor Louis-Ferdinand von Zobeltitz, im Gottesdienst mit.

WITTEN/KASSEL – (APD) Eine gemeinsame Weiterbildung für Pastoren führen der Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden (BFeG) und die Freikirche der Siebenten-Tags-Adventisten vom 24. bis 26. April in Bad Endbach durch. In dem Bereich “Lebens- und Berufsphasen des Pastors” geht es diesmal um die Altersgruppe “55plus”, zu der Geistliche eingeladen sind, die sich in ihrer letzten Berufsphase befinden oder kurz vor der Pensionierung stehen. Die Leitung haben der Bundessekretär des BFeG, Pastor Reinhard Spincke (Witten), und der Leiter des Instituts für Weiterbildung der Adventisten, Pastor Roland E. Fischer (Kassel).
