BERLIN – Das Verhältnis von Kirche und Staat in Serbien und Deutschland steht im Mittelpunkt einer Tagung der Evangelischen Kirche in Deutschland (EKD), der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz und der Serbischen Orthodoxen Kirche, die am kommenden Wochenende in Berlin stattfindet. “Die aktuelle Debatte im UN-Sicherheitsrat über den Status des Kosovo zeigt, wie wichtig vertrauensvolle Beziehungen sind, in denen man die verschiedenen Positionen erörtern kann”, sagte der EKD-Auslandsbischof Martin Schindehütte vor der Tagung.
“Wir freuen uns, dass wir seit Jahren mit der Serbischen Orthodoxen Kirche konstruktive Gespräche über die Rolle der Religion, über Geschichte und aktuelle Entwicklungen führen können.” An der Tagung nehmen unter anderem der Leiter des Amtes für Menschen- und Minderheitenrechte der serbischen Regierung, Petar Ladjevic, der Generalsekretär der Konferenz Europäischer Kirchen (KEK), Colin Williams und die Europa-Abgeordnete Erika Mann teil. Bischof Porfirije von Jegar, Diözese Backa (Novi Sad) leitet die Delegation der Serbischen Orthodoxen Kirche.
Seit 1999 bilden die jährlichen Konferenzen eine Plattform für Politiker, hochrangige Kirchenvertreter und Experten aus Serbien und Deutschland, um den Weg Serbiens und der Kirchen im europäischen Kontext zu diskutieren. Die Tagungen dienen dazu, Gespräche zu ermöglichen über die Lage Serbiens im heutigen Europa und über die Rolle der Kirchen im Prozess der Versöhnung und Stabilisierung der Situation auf dem Balkan. Teilnehmende sind Persönlichkeiten des kirchlichen, öffentlichen und politischen Lebens, sowie Fachleute aus Kirche und Politik aus Deutschland und Serbien. Zur diesjährigen Tagung, die am 27. und 28. April im Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Haus, Ziegelstr. 30, 10117 Berlin, stattfindet, werden etwa siebzig Teilnehmende aus Serbien und Deutschland erwartet. Hauptreferate halten Professor Bogoljub Sijakovic, Religionsminister a.D. (Belgrad), Petar Ladjevic, Leiter des Amtes für Menschen- und Minderheitsrechte, Regierung der Republik Serbien (Belgrad) und Christoph Thiele, Kirchenamt der EKD (Hannover).
Es handelt sich bei der Tagungsreihe um einen begleitenden Prozess, dessen vorläufiges Ende noch nicht abzusehen ist, erläutert Auslandsbischof Schindehütte. Dieser Prozess habe bereits Einfluss genommen auf die Gesetzgebung in Serbien im Blick auf die Religionsgesetzgebung und die Verankerung des Religionsunterrichtes in der Schule. Weitere Themen der Gespräche seien die Menschenrechte, Kultur und Medien, die Rolle der Frau in Kirche und Gesellschaft, Militärseelsorge, Zivildienst und Sozialdienste der Kirche. 2003 fand die Konferenz erstmals in Serbien statt und stellte die Frage nach Kirche und Identität. Nach einer Konsultation 2004 in Berlin und 2005 in Golubac, Serbien, fand im August 2006 statt einer regulären Konferenz eine interkonfessionelle Studierendenkonferenz in Berlin mit Teilnehmenden aus dem Kosovo, dem serbischen Stammland und aus Deutschland statt.
