GENF – (APD) Das Präsidium der Konferenz Europäischer Kirchen (KEK) tagt vom 23. bis 25. April im protestantischen Begegnungszentrum in Cartigny bei Genf. Dem zehnköpfigen Gremium gehören unter anderen die reformierten Pfarrer Jean-Arnold de Clermont (Frankreich) als Präsident und Thomas Wipf (Schweiz) als Mitglied an. Es dient als Exekutive des 40 Mitglieder umfassenden Zentralausschusses der KEK.
An der Präsidiumssitzung wird der Generalsekretär Erzdiakon Colin Williams über die laufenden Geschäfte der KEK sowie über die zukünftigen Aufgaben dieser ökumenischen Gemeinschaft europäischer Kirchen berichten. Ausserdem nimmt das Präsidium die Tätigkeitsberichte verschiedener KEK-Kommissionen entgegen. Die Kommission “Kirche und Gesellschaft”, mit Sekretariaten in Brüssel und Strassburg, befasst sich mit sozialen, wirtschaftlichen, ethischen und umweltbezogenen Fragen im europäischen Kontext. Mit theologischen Gesprächen, etwa zwischen Orthodoxen und Protestanten, Mission, Evangelisation und den Beziehungen mit anderen religiösen Gemeinschatten befasst sich die Kommission “Kirchen im Dialog”. Die KEK arbeitet auch eng mit der in Brüssel angesiedelten unabhängigen “Kommission der Kirchen für Migranten in Europa” (KKME) zusammen, die in Kürze bei der KEK eingegliedert werden soll.
Daneben wird das KEK-Präsidium auch Vorschläge, zur Schaffung eines KEK-Gleichstellungsbüros (Gender Desk) und einer entsprechenden Arbeitsgruppe behandeln. Diese sollen sich mit Fragen der Angleichung von Frau und Mann in allen Lebensbereichen befassen. Auch ein Bericht der Arbeitsgruppe “Beteiligung von Jugendlichen in der KEK” wird vorgestellt. Schliesslich wird die Exekutive auch die erforderlichen Schritte zur Vorbereitung der nächsten KEK-Vollversammlung im Jahre 2009 in die Wege leiten.
“Viel Zeit während der Tagung soll der Reflexion über die geplante Dritte Europäische Ökumenische Versammlung (EÖV3) gewidmet werden,” so Erzdiakon Williams. Die EÖV3 wird von der KEK gemeinsam mit dem in St. Gallen niedergelassenen römisch-katholischen “Rat der Europäischen Bischofskonferenzen” (CCEE) vom 4. bis 9. September 2007 im rumänischen Sibiu durchgeführt. Ferner kommt es zu einem Gedankenaustausch über die Ergebnisse des dritten EÖV3-Etappentreffens auf dem symbolischen Pilgerweg nach Sibiu, das vom 15. bis 18. Februar in Wittenberg (Deutschland) stattfand. Dabei sollen auch weitere Einzelheiten der Versammlung von Sibiu besprochen werden.
Nach Angaben der Nachrichtenagentur APD soll der Ökumenische Patriarch von Konstantinopel Bartholomaios I. im Eröffnungsgottesdienst in Sibiu am 4. September die Predigt halten. Grundsatzreferate in der Plenarsitzung am 5. September würden von Kardinal Walter Kasper, Metropolit Kyrill von Smolensk und Kaliningrad und dem evangelischen Bischof Wolfgang Huber gehalten. Der Feier des Geburtstags der Jungfrau Maria am 8. September soll ebenfalls Raum gegeben werden, weil er in den orthodoxen Kirchen eine grosse Bedeutung hat. Wegen einer möglichen Grussbotschaft von Papst Benedikt XVI. aus Mariazell an die EÖV3 laufen derzeit noch Gespräche.
