FRANKFURT – An der Spitze der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Kirchen in Deutschland (ACK) wurde ein Wechsel vollzogen. Zum neuen Vorsitzenden wurde von den Delegierten der Kirchen auf der Mitgliederversammlung am 7./8. März 2007 in Berlin Bischof Dr. Friedrich Weber (EKD) gewählt.
Er löst den evangelisch-methodistischen Bischof em. Walter Klaiber ab, der sechs Jahre die ACK führte. Klaiber wurde in Berlin zusammen mit den anderen bisherigen Vorstandsmitgliedern, Bischöfin Maria Jepsen (EKD), Metropolit Augoustinos (OKiD), Bischof Dr. Diethardt Roth (SELK) und Bischof Heinz Algermissen (Römisch-Katholische Kirche/ DBK) verabschiedet.
In seinem Abschlussbericht, der über die Ökumenische Centrale bezogen werden kann, erinnerte Klaiber an die vielen Aktivitäten und Initiativen der ACK und an das auf fast allen Ebenen geltende grundsätzliche Ja zur ökumenischen Zusammenarbeit. Zugleich wies er darauf hin, dass das Mandat und der Handlungsspielraum der ACK eine bis heute strittige Frage seien. Manchmal habe er den Eindruck, dass es eine “hidden agenda” im Miteinander der Kirchen gäbe (”Wer erscheint am wirkungsvollsten in der Öffentlichkeit?”). Aber, so Klaiber, “wenn es uns ernst damit ist, dass wir unsere Arbeit im Namen Jesu Christi tun und nicht unsere eigene kirchliche Tradition propagieren, dann führt kein Weg daran vorbei, dass wir mit allen, die sich ebenfalls zu diesem Herrn bekennen, in irgendeiner Form Kontakt halten und mit ihnen zusammenarbeiten… Wir haben zuviel gemeinsam, als dass wir uns der Notwendigkeit gemeinsamen Handelns entziehen können”.
In einem öffentlichen Gottesdienst wurden die neuen Vorstandsmitglieder Bischof Dr. Friedrich Weber (EKD), Bischof Dr. Gerhard Ludwig Müller (Römisch-katholische Kirche/DBK), Generalsekretärin Regina Claas (BEFG), Erzpriester Constantin Miron (OKiD) und Bischof Hans-Jörg Voigt (SELK) in ihr Amt eingeführt.
Im Rahmen der Mitgliederversammlung wurde auch der Freikirchliche Referent der Ökumenischen Centrale (ÖC), Pastor Dr. Klaus Peter Voß vom Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden, verabschiedet. Er war zehn Jahre in der ÖC tätig und wird im Sommer seinen Dienst beenden. Aufgrund der beschlossenen Stellenreduzierungen wird die Arbeitskapazität der ÖC in den nächsten Jahren stark beeinträchtigt sein. Auf der Mitgliederversammlung wurde deshalb vereinbart, dass die Frage nach den weiteren Arbeitsperspektiven und der strukturellen und finanziellen Ausstattung der ÖC auf den nächsten Mitgliederversammlungen weiter beraten werden soll.
